RAISE Conference 2025: Call for papers

Call for Papers: RAISE Annual Conference 2025:

“Student Voice – How we engage and who we engage with."

 

Dear colleagues,

 

We are delighted to launch the Call for Papers / Presenters for the RAISE Annual Conference 2025 hosted by the University of Glasgow on the 4th and 5th September (in person, hybrid and online), where the theme for this year’s conference is “Student Voice – How we engage and who we engage with.

 

About the conference:

In September 2025, the RAISE Conference will be hosted by the University of Glasgow where our conference theme will focus upon the changing landscape of Student Voice. We invite delegates to share best practice on current student voice practice within their institutions and students’ unions along the themes below, where we particularly welcome presentations that include students. Contributions can be delivered through a variety of formats (please see below). RAISE welcomes presenters both new and experienced, and submissions will be peer reviewed anonymously.

 

Conference Sub-Themes

We are accepting both in person and online presentations for our third hybrid conference. Our conference sub-themes are below:

  • Empowering All Voices: Inclusivity, Diversity, and Reaching the Unheard;

  • From Feedback to Action: Making Student Voice Meaningful and Impactful;

  • Student Voice in the Digital Age: Leveraging Technology and Innovation;

  • Student Leadership and Advocacy: Training, Empowerment, and Recognition;

  • Authentic Student-Staff Partnerships: Co-Creation for Lasting Change

  

Submission formats

  • Presentations of Practice: 10 mins presentation with clear introduction of practice, implementation strategy and impact.

  • Campfire Conversations: 15 mins Conversation with 2 mins of research project summary followed by questions from the audience (no PowerPoints involved)

  • Storytelling: 15 mins storytelling using mainly pictures/postcards/drawings (hardcopies) to narrate the project (No Q&A involved)

  • Posters: A3 posters specifying project introduction, project delivery and Impact.

  • Interactive workshop: This is a 45 minute session that is a chance for delegates to get hands on with your project/research/approaches to student engagement.

  • Podcast: A chance to sit down and discuss your work in a short interview (no more than 30 minutes) for a conference podcast. 

 

 

Indicative key dates

  • 17th December – Call for Abstracts

  • 10th March - Abstract submissions close

  • End March - Registration opens (early bird rate)

  • Early April - abstract outcomes

  • End May - Early Bird rate ends

  • Mid August – In-person registration closes

  • Late August – Online Registrations close.
