The purpose of the Partnership SIG is to provide a space to discuss candidly all issues pertaining to students working as partners with staff, and student engagement through partnership in general.

 

Any colleagues, students and students’ union colleagues who have an interest in partnership, or are working and learning in partnership, in Higher Education are welcome to be part of the SIG.

Enabling Partnership to Flourish during Challenging Times: 9 September 2021


We are delighted to inform you that the next RAISE Special Interest Group for Partnership will be hosted online by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) on Thursday 9 September 2021 between 1:30 – 4pm (GMT).

The theme will be: Enabling Partnership to Flourish during Challenging Times

The keynote will be delivered by: Professor Colin Bryson

The event will explore the benefits, challenges and limitations of digital, hybrid and in-person approaches to partnership during the pandemic and beyond.

We are inviting colleagues to take part in the SIG by preparing a short and creative presentation on any of the following questions:

  • How have you been practicing partnership values over the 2020-21 academic year?
  • What was enabled or enhanced by the move online?
  • What has been missing from digital forms of partnership during lockdown?
  • How are you planning to practice partnership in 2021-22 and beyond? In-person, digital or hybrid?
  • What will motivate students to engage in these forms of partnership in 2021-22 and beyond?

We are looking for contributions from staff and/or students in any of the following formats:

  • Academic poster
  • 5 minute “lightning” talk (Zoom)
  • 10 minute live online presentation (Zoom)
  • 10 minute pre-recorded online presentation (recording submitted to event organizers 1 week in advance)
  • 10 minute interactive session (Zoom; supplementary use of other interactive tools is welcome)

If you would like to share your experiences, practices, reflections or ideas about enabling partnership to flourish during challenging times, please complete our short online expression of interest form by Wednesday 14 July 2021. We are keen to receive proposals from a variety of presenters (students, staff, Sabbatical Officers, etc…)
