2024 Committee Elections

The candidate statements are now available to view

The elections will take place throughout the week of our annual conference in Leicester, 9th – 13th Sept September 2024.

The RAISE Committee is responsible for the management and oversight of all RAISE activities including the annual conference, Special Interest Groups, reading groups, and collaborating with other sector organisations to advance student engagement.

The Committee normally meets at least four times per year. Successful applicants will be expected to attend the next four committee meetings (dates TBC but will likely take place during November, January (in-person, likely 16th and 17th), March/April, and June/July) as well as our next annual conference at the beginning of September 2025 (likely the second week).

Meetings will predominantly be held over MS Teams, but at least two meetings a year will be held in person (pandemics allowing!) usually in January and at the AGM during the annual conference in September. RAISE will cover the travel expenses and conference fees for student committee members.

Applicants should be aware that the RAISE Committee and positions operate on a voluntary basis and successful applicants will be expected to commit approximately 100 hours a year. All positions listed are for a 3 year term (September 2024 – September 2027).

The RAISE Committee would benefit from a diversity of backgrounds, both in person and in the profession. We particularly welcome nominations from those from Black, Asian, and other ethnic minority backgrounds as they are currently under-represented on the committee.
